Charlotte Rampel is an infamous Terran, and one of the major players in the Sojourner-Returner War. She was played in Tales From VAST by Amy Dallen.

Biography

Charlotte was born into the prestigious Rampel family, the ruling elite of the Sojourners on Terra. She lived in the Palace of the Sojourners in the capital of Journeyman's Rest with her father Matthias and brother Thomas.

During the Sojourner-Returner War, Matthias Rampel was publicly challenged by his son Thomas. Thomas was outsmarted by his father, who paraded him in the public square before attempting to execute his son. Charlotte, along with her personal guard, stormed the square, rescued her brother, and killed her father.

One of them that died from it was him. I was there. Mine was the hand.

With her brother critically injured during the attempted execution, Charlotte took up the mantle of Prince Sojourner. Two weeks after taking the position from her father, Charlotte met with her military council and announced that she intended to end the war, but did not elaborate how.

Employing the services of Returner agent Gerard Shin and former Sojourner Elite Guard Kayla Torvis, Charlotte set out in secret to the Returner capital of Cacophony with the intent of negotiating peace directly with their council. After a battle with the Free People of Avalon and a dangerous border crossing, Charlotte and her compatriots successfully made their way to Cacophony.

Charlotte met in secret with the councillors from the six largest Returner nations: Rama Shakti of The Bharata, James Akoni of The First Peoples, Lucille Bocquet of The Union, Maria Gutierrez of El Futuro Unido (The United Future), Ling Hua of The Nation of One Voice, and Abbas Karimi of The Tovar-Shiraka. Charlotte spoke for fourteen hours before finally winning them over to the side of peace.

Having achieved peace between the Sojourners and the Returners, Charlotte returned to Journeyman's Rest where she proceeded to dismantle the monarchy system and establish a more democratic form of government. This led her to form the Terran Republic.
